Membership of this club will make you a legend. You will influence generations of music-lovers, who worship you. You’ll have the status of a semi-god, surrounded by mystery and intrigue. But this is the club no-one wants to be in. The Forever 27 club is dedicated to influential rock and blues artists who all died at the age of 27, under mysterious circumstances.
The first one to go, in 1969, was Brian Jones – the founder and guitarist of the Rolling Stones. He was found death at the bottom of his swimming pool after a party. Three people were present at the time (including his girlfriend Anna Wohlin), and though the autopsy showed heavy liver damage there were no indications of intoxication. Suspected is that he was murdered by Frank Thorogood. At his funeral, neither Keith Richards nor Mick Jagger bothered to show up.
